A traditional French breakfast, which includes a croissant and coffee, provokes weight gain. This was reported by a nutritionist.
"A croissant is an unbalanced, high-carbohydrate and high-calorie product," the expert emphasized, adding that "if you eat it, the process of fat accumulation will be started in the body."
It is noted that the croissant is baked from the highest grade flour. The composition of the appetizing dish is "empty", the product contains nothing but calories, carbohydrates and saturated fats. "The percentage of protein there is very small, and there are practically no vitamins, minerals and dietary fibers," the nutritionist clarified.
It is much more useful to replace the croissant with a sandwich based on coarser flour bread. A piece of baked meat, low-fat cheese, tomato, cucumber and lettuce is a great combination for breakfast. Another option is an egg and avocado with greens.
