A cosmetic bag from the ancient era was found in Odesa

After long years of searching, archaeologists came closer to solving the mystery of the lost ancient city, which many considered a fiction, writes Success in UA.

The researcher Oleg Kurnosov, who worked on this mission for a long time, came across a new important find - an ancient Greek or Roman cosmetic accessory, which indicates a high standard of living in this region, reports volnorez.

At the excavation site, among the fragments of ancient stones and bones, a cosmetic container was discovered, which was once used to prepare mother-of-pearl powder from shells. Ancient beauties used this powder for centuries, adding charm and mystery to themselves.

Of particular interest was the shape of the find and its energy, which the archaeologist felt while holding it in his hands.

The artifact bears a direct resemblance to a similar find from Panticapae, the ancient capital of the Bosporan kingdom. There, one of the researcher's acquaintances, who currently lives in Sumy, found the same object with the remains of mother-of-pearl. These artifacts confirm that the women of this region actively used natural cosmetics and jewelry.
