Due to the order of the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, to shoot down drones in the airspace of Belarus, no matter whose they are, may cause a sharp reaction from his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
This opinion was expressed by the Belarusian oppositionist Pavlo Latushko in a comment on "24 channel".
According to him, tactical conflicts are already taking place between Putin and Lukashenka. First of all, the owner of the Kremlin is dissatisfied with the fact that Belarus withdrew part of its troops from the border with Ukraine.
Latushko noted that in response to this, Moscow gave Belarus an ultimatum: oil on prepayment. In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Russia, which made a request for weapons in Belarus, refuses to pay for them until Lukashenko returns the troops to the borders with Ukraine.
The downing of Russian drones in the airspace of Belarus may provoke Putin to take even tougher measures.
"Putin can say that then there will be no Belarusian milk and meat in Russian stores, there will be pre-paid oil and an increase in gas prices. Now they [Putin and Lukashenko] are pulling the ropes against each other, checking who will survive," the Belarusian opposition leader explained.
In addition, Latushko emphasized that due to Russian drones flying into the territory of Belarus, Belarusians should seek shelter, as debris from downed drones can also cause damage.
