The White House criticized Elon Musk's comment about the alleged assassination attempt on Trump
The American billionaire deleted a post in X that "no one is trying to kill Biden or Harris."
The White House criticized the deleted post of the billionaire, the owner of the X social network, Elon Musk, related to the attempt on the US presidential candidate Donald Trump. This is reported by Axios.
Musk wrote on his account, asking why there have already been two attempts on Trump's life, and US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have not faced similar situations.
After a sharp reaction in society, the businessman decided to delete the publication, explaining that it was a bad joke.
"It is fair. I don't want to do what they did, even as a joke," Musk wrote.
White House press secretary Andrew Bates condemned such rhetoric, saying that any display of political violence should be strongly condemned, not ridiculed or encouraged.
"Violence should only be condemned, not encouraged or ridiculed. Such rhetoric is irresponsible," Bates emphasized.
