In an interview with a neurologist, the opinion was expressed that the danger of laughter for a person is determined by its relationship with the general state of health.
"If a person has problems with the respiratory organs and the cardiovascular system, and some disease is ready to develop into something more, into an attack, in such conditions laughter will be an increased risk," explained the doctor.
The doctor listed disorders in which loud laughter or giggling can contribute to the development of negative, even life-threatening processes.
- Hypertension.
- Bronchial asthma.
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
- Heart failure.
- Vascular pathologies.
The doctor noted that "laughter can provoke an increase in pressure by several points."
Taking into account this feature, the doctor said, doctors do not recommend laughing at the above-mentioned conditions in moments of their crises and deterioration. You can laugh the rest of the time.
The expert added that fits of laughter are dangerous while eating. Their consequences can be the entry of a foreign body into the respiratory tract, asphyxiation.
