Porsche Asia Pacific and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur have joined forces to create a unique Taycan Turbo S electric car known as Celestial Jade. The model attracts attention because it has a special pigmented paint that changes tone at different angles and under different lighting conditions.
Porsche said that the special paint imitates the "miraculous transformation" of precious stones. While most paint jobs are fairly straightforward, this one took almost a year to develop. In the end, Porsche mixed two Chromaflair paints and then spent about 80 man-hours applying them by hand.
The result is impressive, with the Chromaflair paintwork featuring tiny flakes that give the car a variable colour, and in the case of the Taycan, there are vibrant greens, yellows and golds, as well as hints of dark grey, black and blue. In addition to its unique coloring, Celestial Jade features logos inspired by the mythical creature known as LongMa. It combines the head of a dragon with the body of a horse.
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade electric car will be shown at various locations in Southeast Asia before eventually being auctioned off in support of a “good cause” in 2025.
It is not known which charity will benefit, but the winning participant will receive a four-wheel drive electric car with two electric motors and a 939 hp engine. and 1110 Nm. Such power allows the model to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2,4 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 260 km/h.
