Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris's approval rating has increased slightly since the televised debate, and she now leads Republican candidate Donald Trump by 5%.
As Ukrinform reports with reference to The Hill, this is evidenced by the data of a poll conducted by Morning Consult immediately after the debate.
If the election were held today, 50% of Americans would vote for Harris (49% of voters were ready to vote for her before the debate).
At the same time, Trump is losing supporters. If on the eve of the debate he had 46% of the vote, now this figure has dropped to 45%.
According to the results of the survey, Harris leads among independent voters: she is supported by 46%, Trump - 40%.
A Morning Consult poll conducted Wednesday of 3317 likely voters has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
