The American car manufacturer Lucid is preparing a new electric crossover for less than 50 thousand dollars. The automaker shared the first teaser image of the future model. It is known that this will be a medium-sized crossover, which in the Lucid hierarchy will be located one step below Gravity and will receive a modest price below 50 thousand dollars. Serial production of the car will be launched in 2026, and the new product will compete with the Rivian R2.
American electric vehicle startup Lucid Motors, whose majority shareholder is the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), manufactures electric vehicles at its main plant in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Today, the model line includes the Air sedan and the Gravity crossover. In a year, they will be joined by a "younger" crossover, which will replenish the segment of medium-sized SUVs. His name has not yet been revealed. Judging by the single image, it will have a sloping roof, a raised hood and large Lucid lettering on the grille.
In addition to the announcement of the new model, Lucid also shared other plans for the near future. In particular, the automaker promised that already in 2025 Gravity will receive a modernized NACS charging port. This is the North American Charging Standard developed by Tesla for the Supercharger charging network. Other companies, such as Rivian, Volvo, General Motors and Stellantis, plan to use this standard.
