Defense Express analysts noted that Ukrainian intelligence uses this drone for reconnaissance purposes, primarily over the Black Sea. Bayraktar TB2 "sees" targets at a distance of more than 50 km.

On Wednesday, September 11, Ukrainian special forces of the GUR destroyed a Russian Su-30SM worth 50 million dollars in the Black Sea. The main intelligence department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed the fighter's pike at depth by releasing the relevant video footage. A Russian military plane was shot down with the help of a portable anti-aircraft missile complex. Defense Express analysts noted that the footage from the Bayraktar TB2 reconnaissance and strike drone camera can also be seen in the video.

According to experts, this indicates the probable participation of this drone in the operation. Bayraktar TB2 in March 2022 demonstrated the ability to detect targets at a distance of more than 50 km, making it a valuable tool in combat operations.

Officially, the participation of the drone has not been confirmed, but the appearance of such footage is rare due to the vulnerability of these devices to air defense equipment. The head of the MOU GUR Kyrylo Budanov previously noted that the Bayraktar TB2 proved to be effective in the first months of the war, but due to the saturation of Russian air defenses, its use in strike missions became limited.

Instead, the drone continues to be actively used for reconnaissance, especially over the Black Sea. Bayraktar TB2 has powerful optical systems that allow high-quality reconnaissance at long distances. Also, this UAV plays a key role in supporting the activities of combat groups on the water.

Fighters of GUR MOU note the reliability of Bayraktar TB2, which was actively used in the Bakhmut direction to detect enemy forces and adjust artillery fire.
