Demonstration firings were the result of cooperation between the US Army and the Finnish defense company Patria.

"We are happy to see the results of our successful cooperation with the US Army and our partners. Given the global interest in the capabilities of Patria NEMO, we are ready for further discussions with the US and plan to start supplying this system to US forces. This will increase their survivability, firepower and maneuverability," company representative Janne Rakkeläinen said in this regard.

Goals of cooperation

The U.S. Army seeks to increase the firepower of its armored and Stryker brigade combat groups by providing them with the ability to fire quickly and accurately with indirect and direct fire. At the same time, special attention is paid to protecting the crew and reducing their physical load, as well as reducing impulse noise effects and overpressure of the explosion.

Patria NEMO is a remote-controlled 120 mm mortar system capable of direct and indirect fire, particularly on the move. The system can perform firing tasks with simultaneous hitting of up to six shells (MRSI), which significantly increases its effectiveness.
