With the beginning of autumn comes more and more rainy weather. This means that there is an urgent need to protect your shoes from getting wet, and therefore from damage.
If you constantly wear your boots in rainy and humid weather, there is a good chance that they will start to deteriorate quite quickly. But, fortunately, it is possible to protect the shoes, and it is quite simple to do.
Vaseline
In order to protect your shoes from getting wet, you can treat the entire surface with medical petroleum jelly. This method is one of the simplest, but at the same time it remains extremely effective. After this treatment, you can immediately put on your shoes and go for a walk in the rain.
Wax or paraffin
All you need to do is melt a small amount of wax or paraffin and apply this substance all over your shoes. But you have to make sure that the substance after melting is not too hot, because otherwise you can damage the material of your shoes.
Do not forget to process the seams as well. And after application, you need to take a hair dryer and dry the entire surface well.
Castor oil and linseed oil
You need to mix a teaspoon of these two oils, and then add another teaspoon of grated paraffin to the mixture. Everything must be mixed and melted in a water bath.
When the mixture starts to cool little by little, you should apply it to the surface of the shoes. However, keep in mind that it will dry completely in only 7-8 hours, so it is better to start the procedure in the evening and leave the shoes to dry overnight.
