Like the colors of the native flag, the deer glisten with gold under the blue of the boundless sky. Our parents have long been good farmers, they loved and knew how to grow bread. Bread that was considered sacred.
And the year 2022 showed the world the real price of Ukrainian bread. Burnt fields, destroyed machinery, harvesting under shelling, and the indomitable spirit and love of Ukrainians for their land...
Today we will reveal to you the secret of Ukrainian bread...
Our bread begins with a blessing for goodness, when with a pure heart and bright thoughts we begin a great work:
Since early autumn
we sow the grain in the black fertile field.
The earth, still holding the summer heat, begins to give birth to the first shoots that will one day become bread.
Winter snows cover them with a white warm blanket,
so that in a dream they gain strength.
And in the spring, when all nature wakes up,
the fields are already turning green with silk carpets of young bread.
Kind spring sun and generous rain
help the wheat to grow higher and higher.
And when the sun sets behind the horizon, the stems are covered with evening dew.
Night comes every time, which envelops everything around with coolness and lulls the fields to sleep.
But then the day returns
and the rays of each new dawn turn the spikes of gold more and more,
which reach to the songs of larks.
Summer thunderstorms wash the land,
and the winds comb her golden hair.
The sweet smell of ripe wheat at the end of summer means
that the earth blesses us for the harvest.
A long time ago it was a great holiday,
and today is the crown of the entire agricultural cycle.
A mowed field, as if a newly woven canvas
from giant balls of threads,
resting from the ears of corn.
Next, large and powerful machines use the energy of wind and current to grind the harvested grain into flour.
From that flour in a beautiful clay oven
grandmother's caring hands bake
fragrant and blush, poured by the sun itself and the strength of the native land
bread - born of earth, sun, wind, fire and love for work.
Therefore, there is nothing in the world tastier than Ukrainian bread.
