Volkswagen's Commercial Vehicles division has revealed the first photos of its all-new Transporter.
The T7 is known to be heavily based on the Ford Tourneo/Transit Custom. This is particularly noticeable in the rear, while VW has tried to achieve greater differences in the front, where it resembles its T6.1 predecessor.
The seventh generation of the model is produced in three versions (station wagon, van and cargo), as well as Caravelle (passenger). The latest turbodiesel, plug-in hybrid and electric drives provide the drive. All-wheel drive is available as an option.
Overall, the range has never been bigger: in the future it will include the new Transporter and Caravelle, ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo, Multivan and the new California.
The new van will enter the German market in early 2025. Here, the Transporter is offered with significantly enhanced standard equipment compared to the T6.1 and an 81 kW (110 hp) turbodiesel (TDI) in van form from €36 and as a flatbed double cab from €780.
