Renault Trucks continues work on the advanced Oxygen electric truck, specially designed for urban logistics. After the first phase of tests in Paris and Lyon, where the machine was tested with a potential customer - Geodis, the next one will soon begin. Already from October this year, the car will work in Amsterdam, serving the country's largest Jumbo supermarket chain.
Transportation will be handled by the transport partner - SVZ. Unlike the first phase, when Oxygen carried dry cargo, it will now work with fresh frozen goods. For this, a refrigerated van was installed, the refrigerating unit of which was placed on the chassis.
The tests in Amsterdam are important for further orders. From January 2025, Dutch municipalities will be able to define zero emission zones, where only environmentally friendly vehicles will be allowed to enter.
We will remind you that the Oxygen electric truck was developed by Renault Trucks together with 17 partner companies. The machine with the wheel formula 6x2 is designed for a total weight of 26 tons. The wheel base is 4600 mm. Three battery units with a total capacity of 282 kWh provide a range of up to 150 km.
For ease of boarding and disembarking, as well as better visibility, the cabin was moved forward and made with a low floor. Instead of mirrors, cameras with a viewing angle of 360 degrees were installed. Sliding doors were used on the right side, which reduces the risk of injury to pedestrians and cyclists.
