The most likely candidate for the position of vice president of the United States in the event that Kamala Harris is elected as the candidate for the position of the head of the White House from the Democratic Party is the 51-year-old governor of Pennsylvania, Joshua Shapiro. This was reported by Axios with reference to sources in the White House.

It is noted that "virtually all paths to 270 electoral votes go through Pennsylvania" is one of the few things on which the campaigns of Harris and former US President Donald Trump agree.

"While Harris may have surprised everyone, she appears headed for a choice that many sources -- Republican and Democratic -- say is both insightful and easy. It's a combination of math and logic: Pennsylvania's 19 Electoral College votes are the biggest prize on the map, and its Democratic governor has a 61% approval rating," the paper writes.

At the same time, according to the media, six potential candidates for the post of US vice president under Harris are still "technically in the game".

But most of the talk among senior Democrats has narrowed to Shapiro and Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona. … We don't know if Shapiro will be Harris' choice. But many sources we trust see no other choice," the authors state.
