Ukrainians continue to boost Poland's economy
Ukrainian businesses created this year work mainly in construction, information and communication technologies, and the service sector.
Every tenth business that was created in the first half of 2024 in Poland belongs to Ukrainians, and 77% of businesses recently registered by foreigners in Poland were managed by Ukrainians, PAP reports.
According to the Polish Economic Institute (PIE), from January 2022 to June 2024, about 59 Ukrainian active individual enterprises (JDG) were established in Poland.
It is noted that in the first half of 2024, Ukrainian citizens created more than every tenth business in Poland (11,2%), and 77% of active, newly registered businesses in Poland by foreigners were managed by Ukrainians.
As PIE reported, the share of Ukrainian enterprises created by women in the first half of this year is about 35%, which is lower than the share of enterprises created by Polish women during the same period (38%).
"Even in 2023, the share of Ukrainian women who headed active individual enterprises was higher than the share of Polish women (37% versus 34%). In January 2024, we recorded the lowest share of JDGs created by Ukrainian women (31%), and in July 2022, the highest (44%)," the publication notes.
According to the data of the Polish Economic Institute, Ukrainian individual enterprises created in the first half of this year work mainly in such industries as construction (23%), information and communication technologies (19%) and services (12%).
The report also notes that businesses created by Ukrainian men differ from businesses created by women in terms of industry structure. Men most often found enterprises related to construction (34%), information and communication (23%), as well as transport and warehousing (11%). Almost every third enterprise managed by Ukrainian women provides services (30%).
