Two officials of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation were detained on suspicion of fraud
Earlier in Russia, several cases were initiated at once against high-ranking officials of the Russian Ministry of Defense. It was reported about the detention of several generals — former deputy ministers of defense.
The Russian Federation announced the arrest of Vyacheslav Akhmedov, the director of the park of the Russian army, and Volodymyr Shesterov, the deputy head of the Main Department of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in a fraud case. This was reported by rosZMI on Monday, August 5.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced the arrest of Vyacheslav Akhmedov, the director of the Patriot Russian Army Park in the Moscow region. The court ordered him to be remanded in custody.
The decision was made as part of an investigation into suspected fraud. In addition, the deputy head of the Main Department of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Volodymyr Shesterov, was detained, and a decision on preventive measures against him has not yet been made.
