Turkey's Information and Communication Technology Authority has blocked access to Instagram. Currently, the reason is not known. This is reported by Reuters.
The agency notes that the decision was made following comments by Turkish communications official Fahrettin Altun, who criticized the platform for what he called a decision to block condolence posts following the death of Hamas politburo chief Ismail Gania.
"This is censorship, pure and simpleAltuna said, adding that Instagram did not allege a policy violation in its actions.
Instead, the official reason for blocking the social network is not known. Apart from that, there were no comments from the company Meta.
