Trump changed his mind about the debate with Harris
The debate could take place in Pennsylvania, one of the key states where victory could determine the fate of the election.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has agreed to a debate with his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, on September 4 at an event hosted by Fox News. This was reported by The New York Times on Saturday, August 3.
If this happens, it will be the second presidential debate in this election cycle and the first between Trump and the new Democratic candidate, the publication notes.
According to Trump's announcement on his Truth Social page, the debate will be held at a location to be determined in Pennsylvania, one of the key swing states.
According to him, the debate on Fox News will take place in the presence of a live audience. The previous debate between President Joe Biden and Trump was held in an empty room. Although the campaigns agreed on the format of the first debate, Trump previously complained about the lack of an audience, the newspaper said.
Trump also said he was "absolutely ready to accept" Harris as the new Democratic nominee.
At the same time, it is not yet clear whether Harris agreed to the debates and their terms. Representatives of her campaign did not respond to requests for comment. Fox News also did not comment on this information.
It should be noted that just the day before Trump expressed doubt that he needed a debate with Harris, because he seems to be already leading in the polls.
