August in Ukraine will be hot and with a lack of rain.
Meteorologist Ihor Kibalchich warned about this, writes "Meteoprog".
According to him, in the first decade of August in Europe, heat up to +40° and above is expected. Its peak falls on the 5-15th, and then hot air will come to Ukraine. The western and southern regions of Ukraine will be the first to feel the heat, where thermometers will rise to +34...+38 °С.
A gradual decrease in the temperature background is expected in the second half of the month. Also, the main part of the rains will fall in the second and third decades of August.
"But the amount of precipitation throughout Ukraine is predicted to be small and may amount to only 30-60% of the climatic norm, which corresponds to approximately 15-40 mm", the forecaster noted.
According to him, such a trend will have an extremely negative impact on the state of vegetation in many regions of Ukraine, and will also lead to a further decrease in the level of rivers mainly on the Left Bank of the country.
"The air temperature during August will be distributed in such a way that in the first decade of the month the hottest weather will be established in the western and southern regions of Ukraine, in the second decade the heat will spread to most of the country, and in the third decade the temperature will decrease, starting from the western and northern regions", Kibalchich said.
On average, in August, the temperature background is expected to be 2-2,5 °С higher than normal and will fluctuate across the country within the range of +22...+26 °С, in the Carpathians it will be several degrees cooler.
"Taking into account the expected weather features, agro-meteorological and hydrological conditions in most regions of Ukraine are expected to be unfavorable, especially in the southeastern part of the country", the meteorologist added.
