Hyundai's design and engineering team is already working on the restyled Ioniq 6. Carscoops spies spotted a test prototype of the electric car in camouflage during testing. This is reported by Auto.24.
The black coating hides significant changes in the design. The most noticeable of them concerns the design of the front part, namely the shape of the hood and the location of the lighting devices. The prototype features traditional one-piece headlight units, while the hood is almost square in shape.
The Kona compact crossover has a similar solution with the headlamps and daytime running lights section flush with the hood, and Hyundai seems to have given similar styling to the updated Ioniq 6. The rear LED lights will get some design changes, and the interior will get a new trim. Rumor has it that the multimedia display will be able to connect wirelessly to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The automaker is also expected to increase the model's range by switching from a 77,4 kWh battery to an 84 kWh unit. Similar changes have already been applied to the Ioniq 5. The power is 228 hp. in single-engine and 324 hp. will remain in the version with all-wheel drive, but for the first time the Ioniq 6 N will join the lineup, which will receive two electric motors with a total capacity of 650 horsepower.
