An endocrinologist told about what will happen to the body if you give up sugar or at least drastically reduce its share in your diet.
If you don't see the word "sugar" on a product label, it doesn't mean it isn't there. It can appear under several names, for example, hydrolyzed starch, molasses, fructose, maltose, and so on. So it is very difficult to completely give up sugar. However, the fact is that we eat too much of it, and therefore if we at least start to control its use, the body will thank us.
So that the rejection was successful and there were no disruptions, the endocrinologist recommends eating during the main meals, as well as including slow carbohydrates in the diet, for example, pasta and cereals. This will allow you to feel full for a long time and not drag pieces all day.
The specialist notes that already on the first day of such nutrition, you will feel more energetic in the evening than usual. The day will pass without spikes in the level of glucose, and the mood will be even.
The changes will become more noticeable in a month: the refusal of sweets will affect all body systems — from the gastrointestinal tract to hormones. According to the endocrinologist, metabolism will improve, insomnia will disappear, and weight will decrease.
After a year, the immune system will improve. The weight will decrease, and irreversibly (unless, of course, they return to their old diet). And you'll visit the dentist less often, because the breakdown of sugar in your mouth produces acid that damages the surface of your teeth, leading to tooth decay and other problems.
