A new strain of COVID-19 FLIRT is spreading in Ukraine — three cases of the disease have already been registered in July, one of which ended in death.
As reported by the Ministry of Health, nThis strain is a subvariant of the Omicron variant, which, due to specific mutations in the spike protein, binds better to cells and avoids the immune response.

Symptoms of COVID-19 FLIRT
The general symptoms of infection with a new strain of coronavirus at the beginning of the disease are the same as with other variants of COVID-19:
- undead;
- elevated temperature;
- cough;
- headaches;
- fatigue;
- muscle or body pain.
As before, people with weakened immunity are most likely to get sick with the new strain of COVID-19 FLIRT. Vaccination is not a 100% guarantee of avoiding the disease, but it greatly facilitates its course.
Cases of a new strain of coronavirus have been recorded in Ukraine
According to the Ministry of Health, three cases of FLiRT coronavirus subvariant were detected in Ukraine last week: two in Kyiv and one in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Two women and a man over 60 years old fell ill.
As Ruslan Savchuk, general director of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, said in a comment to Suspilno, an 80-year-old woman died in the region from a new strain of coronavirus. FLIRT disease is laboratory confirmed. The deceased also had concomitant diseases - diabetes and coronary heart disease.
