One of the signs of liver cirrhosis can be swelling of the legs, ankles and feet.
Early signs of cirrhosis of the liver were named by experts - this is written with reference to the recommendations of the British Liver Trust. In particular, it is recommended not to neglect swellings that occur in the lower part of the body.
"Swelling of the legs, ankles and feet may indicate that your liver is trying to function with its last strength," experts note.
They specify that the development of symptoms is associated with scarring of the liver as a result of damage. The damaged liver has uneven bumps (nodules), its delicate texture hardens.
In addition to swelling, other early signs of cirrhosis may include constant malaise and fatigue, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Other warning signs are nausea, capillaries that have burst on the skin above waist level. In addition, a person with cirrhosis may have spotted red palms, sleep disturbances occur.
The organization reminded that alcohol abuse leads to cirrhosis of the liver in many cases.
