Strong explosions were heard near the military airfield of the Russian invaders, Morozovsk
Morozovsk Airport is an active military airfield. The 559th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment is based at the airfield and Su-24, Su-24M and Su-34 front-line bombers are stationed.
Unknown drones attacked the military airfield of the Russian army in Morozovsk, Rostov region, and fuel tanks in the Kamian district. A fire broke out at the site of the impact. As the Russian Telegram channel Asta wrote on Saturday, August 3, local residents reported loud explosions.
Video from the place of arrival was published by Russian Telegram channels.
"Judging by the detonation, the ammunition warehouse or fuel tanks are on fire, eyewitnesses assume," writes Astra.
The governor of the Rostov region, Vasyl Golubev, reported in his post on Telegram that "a number of warehouse facilities in the Kamian and Moroziv districts were damaged as a result of the massive UAV attack."
According to him, emergency response services are eliminating the fire. Information about the victims is being clarified.
At the same time, Russian channels note that there is a military airfield in Morozovsk, and according to local residents, explosions were heard in this area.
It is known that the 559th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment is based at the Morozovsk airfield. Su-24, Su-24M bombers are stationed there, and since 2014, Su-34. In June, the Defense Forces of Ukraine attacked Morozovsk with more than 70 drones.
It should be noted that the airfield in Morozovsk has already been attacked by drones. It happened on the night of April 4-5 this year. Then the chief of staff, an employee of the FSB and riot police were wounded. One occupant died.
