Bridgestone and Webfleet claim to have set a new Guinness World Record for "longest electric vehicle journey on a single charge". In particular, it is noted that the team traveled 916,74 km on a Ford Mustang Mach-E.
It is reported that in this way they broke the previous record of 907,62 km. The new achievement was set by a team consisting of drivers Kevin Booker and Sam Clark, as well as co-pilot Richard Parker. Bridgestone said their journey was "thoroughly documented with independently verified video footage, odometer readings, GPS and battery level data from Webfleet".
The team used the Ford Mach-E Premium Extended Range RWD, which has a 91kWh battery and a WLTP range of 600km. Apparently, the crossover was equipped with tires with low rolling resistance from Bridgestone. In addition, the standard 19-inch wheels on the Mach-E Premium have been replaced with smaller 18-inch wheels.
The record was set over 24 hours and reportedly involved "a mix of urban and rural roads to simulate real driving conditions" in several regions of Britain.
