Dmytro Peskov does not want to participate in the summit for the sake of participation itself
Discussing the "fate of Ukraine" without the participation of Russia is "impossible and pointless," Dmytro Peskov believes.
No peace summit regarding Ukraine with the participation of Russia is being prepared. Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov said this in a comment to the Russian mass media on Thursday, August 1.
"No summit involving Russia is being prepared yet. We hear sporadic thoughts about Russia's participation, which were initiated by a large number of participants in the first event of this kind," he said.
According to Peskov, discussing the "fate of Ukraine" without the participation of Russia is "impossible and hopeless." At the same time, he admitted that voices are now being heard that "Russia may be invited to the next events."
"They do not participate in the event in the interests of some protocol and for the sake of participation itself. Participants participate in the event to discuss a specific agenda. And the agenda, which would suit us, was not announced anywhere. At least, this agenda was not announced in the context of preparations for any similar conferences," added Peskov.
