At first glance, chicken necks seem like the perfect food for cats. But is it really?
Chicken necks as food contain a lot of protein, phosphorus and calcium. Also, the use of such food (that is, meat and hard bones) can clean the teeth, improve digestion, and satisfy the animal's need for chewing.
However, chicken necks can be dangerous for the health of cats. For example, they increase the likelihood of suffocation, constipation, and salmonella infection.
Before giving your pet such treats, grind the meat, clean it of impurities, remove unwanted parts such as feathers, parts of the head.
Veterinarians do not recommend giving cats chicken necks too often. Optimally - three or four times a week. At the same time, it is necessary to give preference to raw necks, watch the animal while eating (to immediately provide help, if anything).
