Austrian Airlines (AUA) has suspended flights to Israel and Iran, as well as Iraqi Kurdistan and Jordan until August 13.
This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to the Austrian public broadcaster ORF.
"In connection with the uncertain situation in the Middle East, the airline company "AUA" continues the measures introduced on Monday regarding connections with the countries of the Middle East. Flights to Tel Aviv (TLV), Tehran (IKA), Erbil (EBL) and Amman (AMM) will be suspended until and including Tuesday, August 13," the statement said.
The airspace of Iraq and Iran will also not be used by the airline until August 13 inclusive.
Passengers who had tickets for canceled flights are offered the opportunity to rebook or cancel them free of charge.
The next day, the Palestinian group Hamas said that the leader of the movement, Ismail Haniya, who had arrived in Tehran to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the president, had been killed in the Iranian capital.
Later, there was information that Israel could be subjected to several days of massive missile attack from Lebanon and Iran in response to the assassination of the leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas last week.
