Medvedev again threatens to "go to Kyiv and beyond"
The former president of Russia said that from now on it is possible to talk about the complete capture of Ukraine "without curtsy".
After the Ukrainian military attacked Russia's Kursk region, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmytro Medvedev threatened "retribution", adding that the occupying country will stop "only when it deems it necessary". The ex-president of Russia announced this on Telegram on Thursday, August 8.
According to him, "it is possible and necessary to go on the land of the currently existing Ukraine. To Odesa, to Kharkiv, to Dnipropetrovsk, to Mykolaiv. To Kyiv and beyond."
Medvedev stated that Ukraine's alleged actions in the Kursk region now "must remove any taboos from this topic (Russia's occupation of Ukrainian territories — ed.)" and that now "we can and should talk about it openly, without shame and diplomatic curtseys."
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation traditionally began to threaten Ukraine and its partners with "retribution".
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation recognized the advance of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Kursk region a day after the "border breakthrough" announced by the Russian media. The head of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov said that the Russian troops "stopped the advance of the enemy" deep into the territory.
The Ukrainian side does not comment on the events in the Kursk region.
