At this week's NAB Show event, Western Digital presented the SanDisk Extreme Pro SDUC memory card with a record capacity of 4 TB. However, it will appear on free sale only in 2025.

The presented memory card complies with the Secure Digital Ultra Capacity standard (SDUC, the volume of one drive is up to 128 TB), the Ultra High Speed-I (UHS-I) interface is used. Speed class 10 implies a minimum write speed of 10 MB/s and a maximum data transfer speed of up to 104 MB/s. The card complies with the Video Speed Class V30 standard, so the minimum sequential recording speed does not fall below 30 MB/s.

The type of NAND memory used in the memory card is not specified, as well as the cost, but considering that the SanDisk Extreme Pro with a volume of 1 TB is sold for $140, the price of the novelty will be very decent. According to Western Digital, its volume and speed should be enough to record long videos in 4K and even 8K formats.

WD also presented SanDisk memory cards in SD and microSD formats for 128 and 256 GB, which provide a transfer speed 4,4 times higher than that of the fastest UHS-I microSD card from Western Digital. The novelties are aimed at professionals who work with large volumes of video in high quality. SanDisk Extreme PRO memory cards of SDXC and microSDXC formats with a volume of 2 TB were also shown.
