OpenAI no longer requires an account to use ChatGPT. But access to other products, such as DALL-E 3, still requires registration and payment. OpenAI is gradually implementing this change with the goal of making artificial intelligence accessible to everyone. According to the company, more than 100 million people in 185 countries use ChatGPT every week. In February, the chatbot was visited by about 1,6 billion people.
Since ChatGPT first launched in late 2022, users have had to create an OpenAI account. The chatbot became popular and made ChatGPT one of the most dynamic services ever. The company then added paid subscriptions to access products like the DALL-E 3 and more advanced models. The account allows you to save and view the history of chats, share dialogues and voice conversations.
More than 100 million people in 185 countries use ChatGPT every week. Traffic tracker LikeWeb found that ChatGPT had about 2024 billion visits in February 1,6. This makes it the most visited site with an AI-powered chatbot. However, its traffic is down slightly from the peak reached in May 2023, when the number of predicted visits exceeded 1,8 billion.
OpenAI also said it has implemented additional content protection measures, including blocking prompts in a wider range of categories, but did not specify which categories. The option to opt out of model training will be available even to those who do not have accounts. Users can allow or disallow the use of their actions in ChatGPT to train OpenAI artificial intelligence models.
