LimX Dynamics demonstrated the abilities of its bipedal robot P1. This time, the tests took place in the extreme conditions of the mountainous terrain at the top of Tanglan in Shanghai.

So P1 skillfully copes with various obstacles and threats. People also tried applying force to P1 to see how well it could defend itself. The coach kicked and jerked him, trying to knock him off balance, and repeatedly hit him with a stick.

Despite the fact that the information about the landscape was not stored in the robot's memory in advance, it coped perfectly with navigation in an unpredictable environment. One of the most difficult challenges for the P1 was overcoming terrain that is not typical of a standard urban environment with its flat surfaces and stairs.

The device scrambled over grassy hills and quickly regained its balance if it tripped. At the same time, the robot's reactions were so accurate that at one point the wooden stick even broke when it hit his leg.

The key to successfully overcoming such difficult conditions was the use of advanced reinforcement learning technology - the robot system does not just analyze data, but independently learns from its own mistakes and successes with the help of incentives and penalties. LimX Dynamics engineers emphasize that reinforcement learning enables robots to adapt to rapidly changing conditions in real time.

It is noteworthy that the test on Mount Tanlan was the third in a series of tests developed by LimX Dynamics. Previously, in October 2022 and December 2023, the company successfully tested its Robops and a humanoid robot.

Experts noted that similar technologies will be used to improve other robots in the line, including CL-1. This model has recently been successfully tested indoors and outdoors, doing equally well with spatial orientation and overcoming obstacles.
