How to cook a California roll with eel?

Ingredients:

  1. avocado - 2 pcs.,
  2. eel - 150 g.
  3. fresh cucumber - 1-2 pcs.,
  4. crab meat - 150 g,
  5. rice - 200 g,
  6. tobiko caviar - 50 g,
  7. pressed edible algae - 1 sheet,
  8. Japanese horseradish wasabi,
  9. soy sauce,
  10. salt - 0,5 tsp.,
  11. mayonnaise,
  12. water - 250 ml.

To prepare rolls, you will need a special mat and cling film, and for eating - chopsticks.

Preparation

Spread a special mat on the table and cover it with cling film. Place a sheet of seaweed on top and lightly rub the wasabi on top. Sort and wash the rice. Drain the cloudy water. Do the procedure until the liquid is transparent. Boil water, add rice to it and cook it over medium heat for about 30 minutes. Turn off the gas and cover with a lid. After 10 minutes, put in a colander and rinse under cold water, then dry.





When the rice cools down to room temperature, you can spread it on our workpiece. Evenly distribute the ego over the entire surface. Top with flying fish roe. Pressing these two layers with cling film, turn the sheet over. At the same time, the side smeared with rice with tobiko will be at the bottom.

Now we proceed to the main filling. Peel the avocado and remove the pits. Cut into thin strips. Wash the cucumber and chop it in the same way. Place the vegetables on a sheet of seaweed. Cover lightly with mayonnaise. Then finely chop the crab meat and eel and put it on the next layer.

Twist into a tube, carefully rolling the mat with the contents in the direction away from you. Each layer inside the tube should be tightly adjacent to the other. The roll should not be loose. But do not overdo it - the feeling of tenderness and airiness should also be present.

At the end of the folding process, press the mat a little to give it the right shape. Leave it like this for 10 minutes. Then carefully unfold the mat, remove the film and cut the resulting roll into equal parts.
