Recording resolution
Determines the detail and clarity of the image. The required minimum is HD, or 1280x720 pixels. A slightly more advanced and popular option is Full HD, or 1920x1080 pixels. The highest resolution is QHD and Ultra HD 4K. These are formats that guarantee increased detail and quality.

Lens and viewing angle
We recommend giving preference to lenses with glass lenses. Unlike plastic ones, they do not turn yellow, do not crack and tolerate temperature changes normally. The physical size of the matrix is also important - the larger the pixel area, the better the image will be.
The viewing angle can be in the range of 70-120° and 140-170°. The golden mean is 120-140°, but for constant city driving, it is better to choose models with an angle higher than 140°. The latter option allows you to capture the entire road in width, including the curb.
Memory class and volume
The video recorder continuously records the video stream and saves it in a separate file. The duration of each recording is approximately 1,5 hours. If there is not enough space in the storage to save a new file, the last one is automatically deleted.
The storage device is a microSD memory card. The volume can reach up to 512 GB. The memory class must be selected according to the resolution. For HD models, cards of class 6 and higher are recommended, for Full HD - class 10, for QHD and Ultra HD 4K special memory cards are required - UHS Speed Class 1 or Class 3.
Mount
The most convenient mounting option is with the help of a vacuum suction cup on the windshield. It is important that the bracket turns easily. If you do not plan to leave the video recorder in the car overnight, look for a model that supports the option of quick removal and installation.
Screen and battery
The built-in screen will simplify the setup and allow you to quickly view the video if necessary, but at the same time the size of the gadget increases. It is more practical to choose a model with a connected screen.
The battery should normally tolerate work at low temperatures. It is desirable that the battery provides the device with another 3-5 minutes of recording after disconnecting the power supply.
