According to the statistics of polls conducted by our information portal, more and more tourists choose resorts located on the Sea of Azov for recreation. If even 10 years ago, interest in recreation in Azov was explained only by the lower cost and specific preferences of the target audience, now the increase in demand is due to the fact that the level of service, infrastructure and all other conditions are successfully catching up with the Black Sea resorts. This location, which will be discussed in the article, is rightfully the most popular in its mini-region, and we will try to understand why.
A bit of geography
The small village of Genhorka is located at the very beginning of the spit Arabatskaya Strelka. It is separated from Henicheska by a road and two automobile bridges, across the Tonky and Promoina straits. Administratively, it is included in the Shchastlyvtsev village council of the Genicheskogo district. The geographical location is determined by the peculiarities of Arabatka, which is surrounded by the Sea of Azov on the one hand, and the Gulf of Sivash on the other.
Climate
In this locality, a rather hot, steppe climate prevails, which is noticeably softened by the sea and the bay. Features of the landscape make the resort blown by all winds, which is very important in the hottest days of summer. The summer resort season officially begins in June and lasts until the end of August, but in fact, under favorable weather conditions, local residents and the first tourists start swimming already in May. The shallow depth of the Sea of Azov allows it to warm up quickly enough, so you can swim in its waters until the beginning of October, naturally taking into account the weather, which is never the same.
Tourist and medical resources
Gengorka has long been known among tourists as a sea and climatic resort, but thanks to the development of the balneological direction and thermal deposits, it quickly turned into a year-round recreation. Rest in Gengorke has its own features, depending on the time of year. If in summer the sun, the sea and the beach are the main focus, then in the off-season the main emphasis is on radon hot springs, salt lakes and healing mud of the Sivash Bay.
Infrastructure and housing
Sufficiently developed both in the village and on the territory of the entire region. In addition to the standard set of entertainment in the form of a water park, a dolphinarium and entertainment establishments, local attractions and excursion opportunities are of great interest. Most of the recreational establishments are oriented to receive tourists in the period from May to September, but are gradually switching to year-round operation - due to increasing demand. The choice of housing is so diverse that it can satisfy any request.
How to get there?
You can get to Genhorka by train, bus and your own transport. The railway stations are located in Henichesk and Novoalekseevka, the bus station is also in the city. To move around the territory of the resort, you can use the route transport of a regular carrier, or the services of numerous taxis, from private companies, to official companies.
