Almost a month after the announcement of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the Google Corporation presented their worthy competitors — the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. Experts of the online store "Stylus.ua" named five reasons to buy new products from Google.
The announcement of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus caused a stir and it seemed that in 2016 they would no longer have competitors. But the "good corporation" surprised with its debut in the development of branded smartphones.
The Pixel model differs from the Pixel XL in screen parameters and battery capacity. Yes, in a smaller model Google Pixel there is a 5-inch FullHD display with a 2 mAh battery. And the Google Pixel XL phablet is equipped with a 770-inch screen with a resolution of 5,5 x 2 pixels and a battery with a capacity of 560 mAh. Otherwise, the functionality of both models is the same.
Already now it is possible to name at least five advantages of Google phones over their main competitors.
- Voice Assistant
- Pixel and Google Pixel XL — the first smartphones equipped with Google Assistant technology. This is an improved version of the Google Now virtual assistant and an alternative to Apple's Siri. It is distinguished by more advanced intelligence and the ability to machine learning, recognizes many voice commands and can even conduct a dialogue with the owner of the phone. In addition to performing ordinary web searches, Assistant is able to answer more personalized questions. For example, the ego can be asked to find a movie on the Internet, and then order tickets for it.
- Camera
"Google phones" are equipped with 12-megapixel Sony IMX 378 modules with large pixels (1,55 μm), f/2.0 aperture, phase autofocus, LED flash. According to experts from DxOMark, Pixel and Pixel XL have the best camera among mobile devices. It was given 89 points, while the iPhone 7 camera was rated 86 points. No smartphone has yet demonstrated a higher result.
Due to the presence of electronic image stabilization, blurring of the frame is eliminated. In addition, an accelerated HDR+ mode is provided, which helps to increase contrast and improve saturation.
- Virtual reality
The novelties run on Android 7.1 Nougat and are equipped with the DayDream platform. Thanks to it, you can use the branded Daydream View virtual reality helmet in conjunction with a smartphone. Pixel and Pixel XL are the only phones that received Daydream support.
- Unlimited cloud storage
All Pixel and Pixel XL owners get an unlimited Google Photos cloud. In Apple iCloud, you can use only five gigabytes of space for free. In addition to generosity, Googlephones also show concern for their users. When the permanent memory load begins to reach its limit, the system will automatically delete photos and videos. But only those that are already in the Google Photos cloud.
- Mini-jack audio output
"Google" smartphones have a standard mini-jack audio output, which is only for Google. After all, the refusal of the people of Cupertino from the usual way of listening to music and talking hands-free did not please many users.
