Such a nuisance as a planted battery in a car occurs quite often, especially in regions with a cold climate or the winter season. But there are also cases when the owner of the vehicle forgets to turn off the headlights, interior lights, and car radio. This happens at the most unexpected moment, when you need to urgently go on business, and the battery is unable to start the engine.
Signs that the battery is installed: when you try to start the car, the engine sounds as if it slows down and dies down. The instrument panel is barely illuminated, only the clicks of the starter are heard.
Let's consider popular ways to start a car if the battery is discharged.
1) With the help of a special starting charger. Such a device combines the functions of a starter and a charger, which is very easy to use. The power of the starting current of the charger must be set in accordance with the parameters of the starter of your car brand. If you do not need to go somewhere urgently, connect the charger to the battery and plug it into the mains. It is necessary to take into account such a point that the value of the charging current should not be lower than 10% of the capacity of the battery itself. Such a device will become simply an irreplaceable thing in case of any problems with the car battery.
2) Start the car engine from a normal working battery, note that the voltage should be approximately the same. It is strictly not recommended to "light up" a 12-volt battery from a 24-volt unit. We take the starter wires and fasten them to the working battery, the engine must be turned off. Be sure to observe the polarity of the terminal, otherwise the car's electronics will suffer (the standard marking of the wire is minus black and plus red). It's simple, after the wires are correctly connected to the two cars, first start the car with a working battery, and after a couple of minutes, start the engine with a dead battery. As soon as the machine starts, the terminals can be disconnected. The engine should run for 20-30 minutes so that the battery can recharge itself.
3) Start the car with the help of towing or by the "push" method. For the towing method, you will need a second car, a strong cable, the length of which is 4-6 meters. It is necessary to connect the cars with a cable, accelerate to a low speed of 10-15 kilometers, while in the car that needs to be started, it is necessary to turn on the third gear, then smoothly release the clutch. This factory method is suitable only for those cars that have a manual transmission. Another way is to use the power of people instead of the second car, for this it is desirable to push the car on a flat road from a hill.
